View Full Version : UPS deal
Circuit City has a small UPS on sale for $15 + $5 shipping. Get two and you get free shipping. Probably not big enough for most computers but a very cheap way to provide some UPS for small items like DVRs, cablemodems, etc.

When I read the thread title I thought UPS was lowering the rate they charge to crush and lose packages.

A pair of these appeared today and are getting an overnight charge before going into service on our two DVR's. Hard to beat that price, and we really do need them on the DVR's. Thanks again.

Always happy to share. Once I've got my order in. :D

Thanks, in for two. We had two power flickers just a few minutes ago...

Almost like these are made for a DVR and a small network device.

Same here, I have a pair of those for our desktops at home. 30+ minutes of battery backup power.

The 2 times I have had a power outage, its SO weird for everything in the house to shutoff, and PC is running like normal.
Sorry, I'm bumping an old thread so no deal for you. :p
This thing really saved me some grief on Sunday. We had a big power glitch during the third quarter of the Bengals/Steelers game. Power dropped three times in rapid suggestion. If I hadn't had one of these UPSs on our TiVo I'd have missed a good five minutes of the game (and possibly more if the smoke got out).
I strongly recommend a UPS if you have a DVR.

With surge protection. Nearby lightening strike took out my DVR over the summer. All bets are off if you take a direct hit, but this would have saved my DVR.

Those were a great deal. Wasn't a bad year for outages but I've had a few smiles after they have saved the day.

And a year later CCY is RIP. :(

I always thought CC's strategy of cornering the used car market (CarMax) was somehow fitting.

As much as they should burn in hell for that, I'm not sure that BBY is the lesser of the two evils. :saywhat:

Fry's.
Anyplace that's willing to sell $8 BlueJeans HDMI cables right next to the $55 Monster HDMI cables... that's my joint.
