The pass at the end was reviewed by the IMSA officials who deemed the contact avoidable and, based on the previous warnings, sent-down a 30-second penalty to be added to the No. 71's total race time. That dropped them to fourth.

I don't know about that. It wasn't the cleanest racing I have ever seen, it was more fender rubbin' than usual but Joerg Bergmeister was hardly a saint throughout the whole affair. I don't know.

They had no choice because of the previous warnings given. If they did nothing the officials would have looked silly and future warnings would not be heeded.
