View Full Version : Honda Fit
Wife's exhaust header pooped the bed yesterday and it is a $400 part. Her car is starting to have problems every few months and it is costing on average $1k per repair. It is a '97 Civic with 120k on it so I have finally convinced her it is time for a new car.
We are really interested in the Fit. Anyone got one? Knows someone who does? Thoughts?

Honda is changing the design. The 2009 is the second generation. I don't know what they are selling right now but 2008 models are the first generation.
Yeah, that is what the local dealership stated. They get the new '09s early next week and have already taken a lot of deposits. The lead time for a new fit is 2-3 weeks from signing the deal. Problem is that means that my wife is without a car for that time. So we are also looking at the Versa and the Scion xB.
'08 == more reliable due to mature product lifecycle. '09 == for the guinea pigs.
admit it, the Fit is really for you
:D

Sort of. The second generation Fit has been available in Japan for about a year now.

Paddle shifters for slushboxes should be banned regardless whether they are on $14K econoboxes or on 8sp boxes in $65K sport coupes.

If memory serves me correctly, the Honda Jazz (same car) scored highly in Wheels Magazine's Gold Star Cars which compared handling, power, consumption, insurance costs, warranty, design and safety. It may well have won the small car class iirc.

you should seriously consider an econobox like a Pagani Zonda F http://www.paganiautomobili.it/ :tony: http://www.cars-wallpapers.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/pagani-zonda-f.jpg

Much better:
THE CCXR - THE FIRST GREEN SUPERCAR
The CCXR will take you to an entirely new level of performance. It is a derivative of the CCX, with a highly modified engine that can run on E85 and E100 Biofuel as well as normal 98 octane petrol (Europe). When run on regular petrol, the 4.7 litre twin-supercharged Koenigsegg engine delivers 806 Bhp, but this figure rises to an astonishing 1018 Bhp when the car is run on E85 Biofuel.
The CCXR is the first green supercar in the world and thereby sets a great example for others to follow. Since the ethanol in E85 fuel has a much higher octane rating and internal cooling capacity, the engine can run with higher compression, boost pressure and more spark advance compared to the normal petrol-fuelled CCX, whilst still maintaining the same exhaust temperature.
