However, the post-race technical inspection found the car to be lower than the required ride height and it was excluded from race results. The car's right-front spring perch had loosened during the first hour of the race, collapsing the spring and dropping the right front of the car below the required ride height.

So, they got excluded because of a mechanical failure that probably gave them a worse set up for most of the race than that with which they started? Seems a bit perverse.

For cases like this, I know, I'm dreaming, they should take a "pro" driver, lay down the best lap, fix the issue, then repeat. If broken makes it faster, pull the entry. If not, let it stand.

I really know that this is impractical (and foolish), but I just want to see The Stig decide the race outcome.
