I want to fire my entire team, with the exception of Ryan Miller, last night's healthy scratches and Timmy "I'm Finally Playing Hockey Again" Connolly. Can I do that? :irked:
Rumor has it with Melrose that the players were ready to revolt. There's also been discussion that mismanagement of Stamkos played into the decision.
But on the plus side, at least I am not a Devils fan. Since Brodeur went out, the Devils can't catch a break. The couple of their fans that I know have already picked out their deck chairs on the SS Lottery Pick.

So this is what hockey has become? A coach gets 16 games?! 16!? There has to be more to this than meets the eye.

The TBL owner is a bit of a loose cannon. I have no idea how they expected the team to perform w/o any D. Savard in Chitown didn't last a week into the season before coach Q was brought in.

Ah, just jump on the Red Army bandwagon. ;) $10 Burke ends up with the Maple Laffs.

And they are still 2 points better than the Phlyers. :saywhat: :irked: Of course it doesn't help when Briere comes back from an injury and gets injured in the first game back. :shakehead
CBJs are finally scoring goals, go on a six game points streak, all of which w/o Nash scoring a goal in 8 straight games. When he finally did score on Wed, the team stunk up the joint with apologies to stink. Oh, and watch Brassard. Kid is gonna be a goodie. 16 games, 16 points.

Reminds me of the song "Ain't Nothing but a Woman" by Robert Cray:
You can give me an hour alone in a bank
Pay all my tickets, wipe the slate blank
You could buy me a car, fill up the tank
Tell me a boat full of lawyers just sank
But it ain't nothin' but a woman
Nothin' but a woman, no, no
Don't need nothin' but a woman
Any time I'm feelin' low

You are correct, sir!
The always awesome Greg W. over at Yahoo! (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/Mistakes-were-made-but-firing-Melrose-just-save?urn=nhl,122308) connects a lot of the dots in this situation.

True, but the team's goaltending has been less than stellar as well.

Gary Bettman clutches pearls, suspends Sean Avery for making "sloppy seconds" comment about Elisha Cuthburt. (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=258182&lid=sublink01&lpos=headlines_nhl)
While it is a good thing that Avery didn't play last night, because he probably would've been Phaneuf'd into next week, I can't believe THE LEAGUE is suspending a guy for implying his ex-girlfriend is a skanky sweater chaser. They let hits to the head go unpunished, but will punish someone for a PR mistep.
I love this game!

Joe Sakic's return to the ice has been sidetracked by a snow blower.
The Colorado Avalanche captain, already out with back problems, broke three fingers on his left hand when he tried to clear snow from the machine at his home and will be out at least three months.

I have heard that you don't run into many hockey players at your neighborhood Mensa meetings (not that I would know for sure). :D
Still waiting for Footer to return to Cbus in January. I hope they sign Nast Mirastny just for that game. :gomer: :D
