I feel worse about ALMS going to 10 races than anything.
Not surprised though
Sadly it seems that race fans are going to take it to the face for a while and Detroit will shortly just be left to float down the Detroit River to oblivion.
But hey in 2013 we'll be racing in Europe.

When does the M-0 farce end?
CUTS AT VISION, IMS
Tony George laid off 12 members of his Vision Racing team last week and
is currently seeking sponsorship in order to keep Anthony Foyt IV on track. There were also cuts at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Indy Racing League, but no number was available.

"Obviously, it's something we're disappointed in, but as good businessmen we've got to make a call," he said. "We have the assets to continue on [emphasis added], but there's no reason at this point to have an event that wouldn't be first-class."
which means, "to have an event where I actually have to spend money." The worm has turned so far that the Penske is doing the same thing to the IRL that he did to CART. Wonder how this is going down at TF? :tony:

...which is why I can think of no better replacement than a Nashville street race.

When does the M-0 farce end? Precisely when Honda stops throwing money at it.

Closer to 1,000 than 10,000

Probably Milw and/or Iowa.

Crap. The idiot wanted the MKW date so badly... and he'll kill that one, too.

at least i hope not; i kinda like the alms side of the equasion. If the rumors were correct, Honda bought something like 30,000 tickets and gave them away to employees and as promotions. If faced with layoffs or sending 30,000 people to a race, my guess is no racey. Without the 30,000 free tickets, MO goes nowhere for Tony's league, and Saturday ALMS would outdraw Sunday IRL 2 to 1.

Don't forget Honda gives out tickets to the alms race as well due to their acura program. Granted, its not as much it helps none the less.
