If this is for real, Norbert better detune the next batch of motors before they ship :gomer:

Alonso tweaks Rubens by less than .1 at Jerez today. Button 3rd and Hamilton up to 4. Nico 5. See, this is fun already and they're spending less than a billion per team now!

Well, they're either running in legal trim or they're not and we'll know soon either way.

Tony Dodgins' take - What must the Honda board be thinking? You spend a fortune achieving nothing, then you get hold of Ross Brawn, ask him to bring his experience to bear on your first rate facilities, let him do it for 15 months at the expense of your '08 plans, then pull the plug just before it all bears fruit. Worse than that, you put down the quickest car on the track and let Mercedes-Benz put their engine in it! What a monumental ****-up!

Brawn GP is the real deal (http://www.autosport.com/features/article.php/id/2042)

Is it the engine or did Honda bail at the worst time?

I doubt it is the engine per se, McLaren isn't doing better.

But Honda leaving also allowed Brawn to fully run the place the way he wanted. He has spent a year rationalizing their development plans and stripping away layers of bureaucracy and redundancy but I'll bet he cut more once he had full reign.

He has spent a year getting rid of incompetent Japanese personnel that were there because of Honda company politics rather than ability.

Fixered it for ya...

That's like 3 months. Seems like that isn't enough time to say Honda was the problem.

McLaren IS doing better. Heikki P-1 at Jerez today. Press credits aero tweaks not power. (of course Renault and Brawn packed up yesterday!...but still only .4 off pace.)

Could it be Kazuki Nakajima was the only other driver on the track...
