I ran across A C last night while channel surfing. I saw a promotional ad for the new season and it showed Jr. out on his own.
Did Sr. fire Jr. or is this some sort of ratings ploy?
The war of words escalated to the point neither could stand the other.
(I think it might be a ploy by Thom Beers to spin off yet another show)

Why can't somebody interesting like Kenny Roberts get a reality show?

EDIT: I call BS, when Mikey is talking to Sr. the microwave and the door knob wall protector look like nothing happened.

That's a real safe bet. :D Beer's shows are as staged as professional wrestling. Without the Jr. vs Sr. shout downs what do you have?

Okay, really, that you folks even know the names of those guys...

I have been toying with the idea of buying a Ford Falcon and trying to rebuild it.

Why rebuild when you can just import? Inline 6 with or without turbo or V8...choice is yours:

If Ford had been smart, this could have been the basis for the Mustang, the Crown Victoria, the Lincoln Town Car and a heap of other models...

Can you import one of these? :gomer:

Nice. Stick a bossed out 289 under the hood, and let her rip!

They did go like stink with a good 289 in them (as did the Maverick with a 302). Here in the land-where-cars-don't-rust there there is a neighbor with a real straight baby blue Falcon (62 I think) that I wouldn't mine having...
My friend's parents had a base Falcon wagon with the base engine and an automatic. On anything more than a moderate grade everyone except the driver had to jump out for the car to make it to the top. :gomer:

Hey, I had one of those!
'63 wagon, 170ci w/2-sp auto, radio delete and rubber-mat floor, good for maybe 60mph tops. It was also dead reliable and nearly indestructable. Once I went to Baja for a month and left it parked in a fairly sketchy neighborhood rather than pay for long-term parking, since it was pretty much theft-proof as well.
The 7-main 200ci variant is a much better engine, and when I swapped the 170 for a 200 and C4 auto it really woke the thing up. Here's the (slightly modified) 200 in my Mustang...

I had well over 200k on it went I rebuilt it the first time, and .020 over, cam bearings, and a crank polish did it. It might have gone another 100k.

I've got an extra set of those same hubcaps hanging in my garage, along with a never-installed set of Clifford headers and a matching vintage Edelbrock finned aluminum valve cover and 3x1v intake setup (the intake is similar to the Offy piece on my engine in the pic above)...

Did you cut the log off? I had a head from an old Appendix J car that had had the log cut off and holes for studs to fit a decent manifold drilled in. This in an Oz '65 Falcon with a 170 and a Fordamatic.

Nope, although Ak Miller did a couple of nice 170s where he milled the end of the head flat and bolted either triple sidedraft webers or a Hillborn fuelie setup. For those who don't follow what's going on, all US and most Oz small Ford sixes (144/170/200/250ci) have an intake manifold integral with the head.
The Offy/Edelbrock triple carb setup comes in two flavors, for pre- and post- 1970 heads. Both involve opening up a hole on top of the ends of the intake log, which seals to the underside of the triple intake with O-rings. The early log is round, so the manifold has long studs which protrude beneath the log and through a heavy steel bar, which clamps the whole thing together. The late head as a flat log, so the top is drilled and tapped and the manifold bolts directly to the top.
This pic is an early prototype, no lettering and a funky water jacket, but it mounts the same way...

Oz got some very nice heads on the 250/2v which are interchangeable with the US stuff and have a removable intake for a single 2v (oddly enough). There are a few Oz aftermarket intakes for those with sidedraft webers and the like, but they're all crazy expensive, US market exhaust doesn't fit, and I understand the compression chambers are less than optimal. If I was going to go to that much effort and $$, I'd just drop a crossflow in and be done with it. There's a guy here in the States that modifies Oz crossflow heads for US blocks (the head is an inch wider, so a water jacket filler plate is in order), which would make a nice choice.
I'm more into vintage parts personally, and the Offy setup is no slouch with a hot Clifford cam and equal-length headers...

Fun stuff  Datachicane has the right recipe, the 200cid six and a C4 would make a great daily driver.
