Chad's touchdown celebration of donning a poncho and sombrero on the sidelines on Sunday cost him another $30,000. I hope that was a real Mexican poncho and not one of those Sears ponchos.

What do you think of him? I really haven't followed pro-football much in the last few years so don't know much about his antics, but I heard an extended interview with him recently where he seemed like a good guy (not an a-----) who didn't really take himself too seriously.

The sad part is that the 'celebration' lasted for only 30 seconds or so. The NFL so needs to get over itself and attend to more important matters like the officiating Monday night. :saywhat:

I've been following the Ocho on Twitter the past few months. The dude is a hoot. He takes peeps out to movies, gives away game tix, buys lunch, etc. I don't know what was up his @ss prior to this season (I suspect that TJ had something to do with the drama queenness), but he has really turned it around this season. I also suspect he's trying to set himself up for life after football as a commentator/talking head.

I was hoping for justice to be served swiftly. But like the Old Testament Jews, we Brown's fans have been exiled to the wilderness for a long long time. Justice and payback will come slowly, when they least expect it. Like Sicillian justice, when 20 years later a black sedan slows down and pulls up beside you and a man asks you to get inside. :D

Browns fans are still doing time for supporting a team that fired Paul Brown. Maybe if they change their name to the "Learned Our Lesson About Art Modell and Never Should Have Fired Paul Browns" the curse will be lifted. :p

So how does the fact that the Brown's won the NFL championship the year after Modell fired Brown fit into you theory?
By the way the weather is shaping up particularly nasty night tomorrow for the Browns Steelers game here.
So how does the fact that the Brown's won the NFL championship the year after Modell fired Brown fit into you theory?
Brown built the team. Period. Kinda like Switzer taking over the 'boyz after Jimmy Johnson rebuilt the team, and won one Super Bowl. Ever since it's been downhill.

What Dando said. Paul Brown team, Paul Brown schooled coach.
What do you think of him? I really haven't followed pro-football much in the last few years so don't know much about his antics, but I heard an extended interview with him recently where he seemed like a good guy (not an a-----) who didn't really take himself too seriously.
Chad is an attention whore, but unlike some of that type he really wants to be liked. He's a fierce competitor but I don't think anything he does is malicious.
He pouted for a while after a bad season when he stopped getting the kind of attention he wanted. But somewhere in the process he seems to have figured out that he can't afford to pout for the last three years of his contract if he ever wants to wear that gold jacket for real.
So now he's back to having fun but he's much more of a team player. Hopefully that will continue.
The irony is that in the midst of Chad's funk, a lot of folks (myself included) would have liked to have kept T.J. Houshmandzadeh and dumped Chad. TJ was the "fiery competitor" and Chad was the "distraction." Now with TJ gone and Chad's attitude changed it seems like he's a better fit in the locker room.
TJ's attitude is looking a little less "fiery and competitive" and a little more "angry and selfish" in retrospect. So while TJ is whining "throw me the ball" in Seattle, Chad is saying "run it 50 times if that's what it takes to win" in Cincy.

thing about Chris Henry, if you were to compile a list of 5 NFL players most likely to fall out of the bed of a pickup in the midst of a physical altercation, he woulda topped it.

Of course the Bengals still have the minor detail of winning one more game for that to even matter. Hoping they can take care of that next week against the Chiefs with minimal drama. :\

I am out of my misery, finally. I'm hoping canning the DC and a few personnel moves on D will fix this. They never were the same after losing Pierce as well. He scared his teammates into playing better and no one filled his leadership. Happened the last time he was hurt too. Still, even healthy he's getting older.

I like Rey and he should be a great middle backer some day, but he still has a tendency to get caught out of position. They don't lose that much with Jeanty on run plays and B. Johnson on pass plays. Getting Crocker and Peko back should more than offset losing Maualuga.

Yes, the return of Peko an Crocks will help, losing three starters on D is harsh. Perhaps we can clone Brian Leonard into a a safety or two? ;)

Amazing isn't it. Once they make the season a huge pile of stinking doo doo and completely crush all life in their fans they go out and make it worse by winning enough games to bump themselves out of contention for the number one pick, possibly all the way down to number seven or something like that.

More than likely a good thing since the top pick is expensive and a crap shoot to boot. Unless it takes you out of position to draft Suh. I still say Tebow is you man. DQ even sez so. :gomer: And and reports are the tide is rising in Cleveburgh. Better get that boat ready. ;)

Does Brandon Jacobs wear a skirt now?
Bradshaw showed he was the better back all season (and last) but hurt his foot midway. He also isn't an every down back, which would be OK if Jacobs was pulling his share.
Jacobs turned me off a few years ago when he pull some very unGiant-like antics in the endzone. He also has too big of mouth to play in NY, especially if he is not going to fully concentrate on improving his game and back up his talk (see Simms, LT, Messier, Rivera, Jeter, Ewing for examples of how to thrive and survive as a NY star).
Jacobs was frightening at times early on with the Giants. Lately not so much and I don't care if he goes. I also don't care if he turns it around. He's already put too much turn in his legacy to care much about him.
However, going into this season the big concern was the receivers and they've turned up pretty big all season. Injuries are also showing they could maybe use some depth (or maybe just reps) on the O line.
I want Tebow!
