Hope I'm not pushing the boundaries too much with this.
Bathurst 1000 this weekend and in conjunction with a major church advertising blitz across NSW, there is a car entered in the race under the Jesus-All About Life branding being used.
Has anyone done anything similar in the USA?
I wish them luck, they're by no means the best drivers in the race but I give them full marks for having a go.

Yeah, but that one is a state supported church.

I've been hearing rumors that Allahracing.com is looking to field a car next year, but they've been having trouble with guaranteeing the contracts with their drivers, due to the worldwide virgin shortage.
Pagan Racing gave good Pagans everywhere a bad rap.
Where is Lake Speed when ya need him?
I'll go with Dodo Racing...

A few years ago this was my entry in crapwagon's simulated racing series.

It was not sponsored, but was entered by Team Jeebus, running on a biofuel blend derived from fishes and loaves.
I don't know if that counts, but it's the best photoshop I ever did, so I was looking for an excuse to show it off again. :D

Mel Gibson's sponsorship didn't result in a win. But that's only because the Jews control everything.

Went to a large boatshow at a marina yesterday. There was a dianetics booth there. WTF? :saywhat:
Maybe they were trying to sign up crew members for the scientology cruise ship thingy they have?
(it's got a bad word and is probably offensive to some, but it's racing related...)
don't race Jesus, he wins (http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3343/3213135633_0cb8521238.jpg)

And quite funny to others and I'd have to imagine downright painful to one:eek:

Yup, they turn up where people with spare money congregate. You'll never see a dianetics booth on skid row.

If folks insist on thanking Him when they win, it would seem only fair to blame Him when the wheels fall off. Seems like He personally intervenes in every sporting event, job interview, military action, awards ceremony, and thumb hammering on the planet. :saywhat:

There was an effort to launch a faith based IRL entry a few years ago. Never turned a wheel. Apparent whatever god they had faith in did not smile upon Indycar.

Isn't that a bit of a redundancy?

Nope!
I remember that it was originally for the Newman Haas cars, but the Andrettis refused to get in the car as long as that logo was on there, so the deal ended up with Granatelli.

And here I figured this thread would be about someone finding the outline of Jesus on the tread of a tire during a pit stop or found during an engine rebuild burned into the top of a piston.

I thought the deal the Andretti's protested had to do with an IMSA effort when they were going to do the 24 Hours of Daytona. They insisted the owner remove that sponsor from the car or they wouldn't drive it.
It was later when Dianetics got involved with Indy cars. They were involved with sports car racing for many more years than their brief foray into Indy cars.
