Dakar 2009 South American Vol. I was the high point of the 2009 racing season.

Is the route the same as last year?

pretty big difference in routes as well as running the opposite direction. not sure if they did this last year but the bikes/Quads have alot of areas where their course runs a different path than the cars/trucks.

The pre-veiw show said some of the dunes were too soft for the cars and trucks to go over, that's why they split the route up.

Congrats to the victors in all classes. Total domination by VW in the car class. Another very tough race in spectacularly rugged country.
