Elsewhere....pchall reports that the IRL is desperately seeking FOREIGN expansion to keep the sad sack series afloat. CHina in 2012. NASCAR, marlboro and all the rest musta pulled the plug so severely that the remaining oval base will probably be axed.

Ecclestone also blamed the race's promoters for having failed to generate much publicity for the weekend – with the grandstands almost totally empty for Friday's free practice sessions.
