No sponsors + no Tony bux = no money.
No money = no new car.
Pretty simple math.

This never would have happened if FTG was still in charge. :tony:

Snore. There was a time when I would have rejoiced at disagreement in the ranks of the idiot IRL owners but that time has, I suddenly realize, long passed.

This inevitably happened because FTG was in charge. :tony:

we’re all wondering how we’re going to be able to pay for new equipment given the current economy and value of the series,” said Eric Bachelart of Conquest Racing.
Should make for an amusing moment when Dallara and Honda deliver per their signed agreements and only a couple teams write checks.

In 2012 it will be "run what ya brung" with OHV stock blocks just like Bill Tempero's old American Indycar Series...
With the way it has continued to suck that would be preferable.
Still couldn't care less.

The teams should just adopt Lemons rules....

Most the teams don't even have money for that. :) Maybe the Indiana taxpayers will buy the cars for them.

From Speed article
“We have great momentum right now, fans have asked for this and 75 percent of them believe we have made the right decision and they’re excited,” said Bernard. “We’ve got new sponsors and we’ve got 29 cars competing this weekend and I’ve heard from a lot of new car owners that want to join.

There's three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics. Somehow, the Cowboy worked all three into that one sentence. Bravo.
Maybe the Indiana taxpayers will buy the cars for them.
The Indiana taxpayers will probably wind up owning a bunch of Dallaras and renting them by the race to the teams. They'll then end up rented out to Euro Boss wannabes for most of the season just to keep the taxpayers from burning down the Pagoda.

75% of Irl fans is not very many people.
Especially when 100% of the fans that left don't give a crap.

The more things change; the more they stay the same, and for the first time in years I find myself agreeing with A J Foyt. Sherman must have set the wayback machine for 1970.
Let me put it to you simply boys, "In 1990 you were somebodies and your views mattered. Now you are nobodies in a nobody series that no one cares about. It's up to you to save yourselves. Get on with it."

Maybe, but saving themselves may just mean saving their money and moving on. A lot of owners have over the years.
