Now they're gonna **** up college hockey chasing Big Ten Network money. ...the beginning of the end for traditional rivalries.

Meh. Yer just afraid of a little competition. :p ;) Personally I don't see this happening since 1/2 of the Big 10+1 (soon to be +2) don't have hockey programs.

Selfishly, I would like to see it just so I can watch more games on the boobtube. We get the DU and CC games on TV quite a bit, but not much else.

It doesn't matter if half of them don't have teams, once half of the Big Ten+2's members participate in a sport, they can form a conference. From a strength of schedule standpoint, except Penn State in the beginning, you will have 16 games a season against, generally speaking, above average competition. Even if you include PSU, the future Big Ten schools will get 14 or 16 non-conference games, which means they can schedule the best of best schools, or keep alive rivalry games. BTHC will destroy the CCHA and harm the WCHA, but not to the same level since NoDak, CC, and Denver are power teams and will be okay on their own. Luckily we have five years to figure things out.

1. Wouldn't add much for the BTN.
2. Pretty much makes the conference tournament a joke w/only 6 teams.
3. YMMV :gomer:
And as an aside, college hockey around here doesn't move the dial @ all. so adding it to BTN isn't going to generate much $$$, but it will add cost (as in non-revenue generating sports).

http://www.wcha.com/men/standings.php is one of the most competitive, hardest hitting, most fun, oldest leagues around. It must not be tampered with
