Seems Peter Windsor has found some employment. This is a Race Driver interview David Hunt.
In all its Windsorian glory (http://www.theracedriver.com/2010/11/david-hunt-exclusive-on-team-lotus/)

Hunt is right...
Hunt is right...
Yes, he is. I remember very clearly that David and associates acquired Team Lotus in the early 90s. Raced a couple times with the chassis/engine package that they got in the deal and then disappeared from the grid. I've never read or heard that he sold or relinquished the rights to Team Lotus.
The only question I would have about the rights to that name would be if the company is completely moribund these days. Does somebody know if they are building anything for anybody these days? I haven't heard about there CF road and track racing bicycles in quite some time.

I think it has operated and maintained a whole series of old Lotus f1 cars

Here is some rather staunch support for Tony Fernandez.

Team Lotus was my GP fave for decades. Sort of lost interest when David Hunt took over because the team was underfunded and seemed to be run by a group of jackoffs.

Collins and Wright were called in by Clive Chapman and gave it a good go. Lotus was pretty much done before they arrived after Tony Rudd had walked away.
Hunt bought the team at the end of the 94 season and did not make the call in 95.

I've been impressed with Tony Fernandez and the way he has been running Team Lotus. It will be very interesting to see what kind of car they come up with for 2011.
The Proton/Lotus bunch really seem like a bunch of wankers. Lotus GP2 & GP3?
WTF is that? They are spec ladder cars and not a single part will come from Lotus.
Added to that they are killing the Lotus line of road cars with their idiotic all new 5 car vaporware lineup.

Seems Forbes agrees with me:laugh:
Here is another good read bringing the saga current.
Joe Saward's Grand Prix blog (http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2010/12/03/the-renault-situation/)
Neither has any roots. It's just a pitiful branding war.

It helps to keep in mind that the folks running the Proton/Lotus car company are idiots who are busy creating a full line of vaporware Lotus cars. The only real question is how much money will the Malaysian government allow them to lose before they pull the plug on the whole deal.:shakehead

Chapman family backs Group Lotus
By Jonathan Noble Thursday, December 23rd 2010, 16:57 GMT
Will Fernandes be able to use Team Lotus? The family of Colin Chapman has thrown its support behind Group Lotus's ambitions with the Renault team, after expressing its view that it would prefer the Team Lotus name not to return to Formula 1.
