love the roof
hate the scoop, and REALLY hate the fin
very bubbly. Not scrubbing bubble bubbly, but bubbly nonetheless.
I was surprised to read they adopted Acura's headaches with large front tires. :saywhat:

Rather odd looking to say the least.

Maybe some paint will help...
Can the drivers see over/around those front wheel mountains?

And who is the person at Audi with the headlight fetish? All current Audis are fitted out like freaking Christmas trees:saywhat:

Aside from that ridiculous fin that the ACO has decided to make mandatory for all prototypes, I think it looks great! Like a stealth bomber or something.

Correcto.......all the teams should just break out the sawzalls and remove the fin. Tell the ACO to **** off the night before the first race.

I think it looks like darth vader on wheels.
The fin, however, the fin looks just dumb, and was probably added late in the design to fulfill the rules requirement. Try to look past it.

From the speed.com analysis article:
The R18 is also said to demand more from its pit crew with four big, heavy wheels and tires. Studies—supposedly done by Audi Sport’s sports doctors—determined that with the R18’s tire changers now required to remove and reinstall items that weigh 23 kilos (50 pounds) each in the same time they were able to change the tow big/two small tires on the R15s, the tire changers will need to add between six and eight kilos of muscle mass.
Man, the level of scrutiny, analysis and data...

Looks like something from that NASCAR road racing series. :gomer:
It looks industrial.
If it is fast and wins, no one will care.
Yup, so when is the Rolex 24 so we can see what REAL sportscars look like!?

What a bunch of pu$$ies the Audi Sport tire changers must be... A factory wheel and tire for a Crown Vic Police car weighs 30 kilos/66 lbs, and I can lift and center one with one hand (and do on a daily basis)... then I hit 5 lugs(not one) with a 4 pound impact wrench (theirs are at least a pound lighter).
BTW, anyone who has met me will agree I'm an "imposing physical specimen" (6', 155lbs), right Joe?
Looking forward to the 2011-12 ALMS seasons.. :D

I saw this thread on friday and took a few days to think it over and I have come to the conclusion that it is absolutely fuggin awful-looking...the drivers had better have memorized every apex on every corner on every track because they sure as **** won't be able to see them over those wheel arches, the headlights are hideous and the fin is atrocious...
So that means it will probably go like stink and win everything in sight...hope it goes to Road America this year though..;)
