Good Man.
I have one of those as well somewhere.... no sig though...
There is no such thing as pointless nostalgia. I keep my CART lanyard in the seat back pouch of the front passenger seat of the Passat replete with years of ticket stubs (Yes, I've still got Helga the Barge after 13 years -- I want her forever). But just the memories are also good --- even like the day after the night when I probably emptied a Canuckian bubba all on my own for a friend so it would be easier to carry around during morning practice to get signatures....

Agreed - I have a small box full of various items: diecasts, old Racer mags, ticket stubs, programs, etc. The Subie still wears a Champcar sticker on the rear window.
If you see a Fire Marshal truck with a Champcar plate on the front - that's me. :gomer:

Yep, me too. My pickup still sports a faded cart plate frame. My old f1 stuff is actually worth some money though I recently discovered. Woohoo!

The old CART license plate frame. I wish I still had mine. I woke up one morning and found out CART had adopted the normally aspirated lump of **** IRL motor. I ran outside and ripped the frame off my car. Since I didn't take the time to use a screwdriver, I kinda broke it :D I've still got a flag, parking sign, tickets, lanyard, photos of my daughters with drivers and at the track, autographs, diecasts, hats.........my office is full of that stuff.

Me too! Someone should be remaking this stuff!

check ebay - there's usually a lot for sale there. However, whenever I look I usually get so damned pissed that it ruins the rest of the day.

An entire case of old-style logo (with Quokka :yuck:, no less) 32oz plastic cups, a few programs from MoNteGi, various team goody bags, a bunch of mounted promo prints from Global Events, and this victory podium backdrop...

What's with the Rocketsports-branded beer? When I partook of their hospitality, they had to sneak in beer as "special water" rather than serve it openly 'cuz Johnson Controls was a dry company (or so the hospitality director explained).
On the wall across from my desk as I type this - Glad I got a signed copy.

Molson was doing the bubbas (as they called them) a few years back. They did them as various things, don cherrys suit, I think there was a santa one, and for the molson indy, they did three. A rocketsports one for tags, a forsythe one for pt and then a racing one with just molson canadian logos.
I had picked up three for a test session at M-O that was open to the public. Forsythe wasn't there so racechic and i got the whole rocketsports team to sign theirs. Tags didn't know bout them, thought we made them ourselves. They had just come out.
A few of the gang were there that day, I got drunk, nearly thrown out, and had a tonne of jello shooters outta grrl's private medical stash. "I need 20 cc's of jello stat!" :)
Been digging through stuff in storage and the basement recently - finding many things. My son was just looking for a lanyard and I offered him several CART/Champ Car ones -including the one from the pace care ride in Milwaukee- he passed.
Thought about liquidating somethings that have been packed away: CART warm wool jacket (with the big embroidered logos), Da Matta Pioneer die-cast -signed, KOOL Atlantics poster with from the late 90's etc.
And sitting on the bookshelf next to me: "Paul Tracy was ROBBED" button that someone from 7G made. (I should post a pic of that)

ChampCar license plate holder on my car.
Mine was tossed by the farking Ford dealer when I traded my Expolder in for an Expedition in 2007.
The "ChampCar" on the plate holder on the Caddy fell off sometime towards the end of 2010.

There is a woman out by me who has an entire shop full of crazy CART/ChampCar items - both sale and promotions stuff. I believe she is open the first Saturday of every month and a pal of mine heads out their on a regular basis.

Where?
I still sweat-up my Champcar black hoodie and hat when I run in the cool. A N/H team guy (the wing rider) gave 'em to me. Denver, I think. If I go anywhere to be seen people ask me "What's Champcar?":(

I've been cleaning out my hobby room, and found 4 of those magnetized schedules like devilmaster's on my file cabinet.
I have way too much CC memorabilia--hats, tickets, programs, newspaper articles...At what point does it become "hoarding"? How do you figure out what to let go of?

Keep it and cherish the memories. I still have a Nigel Mansell NH t-shirt still in the package amongst my seemingly endless stash of CART stuff.
Dataguy!...I've moved, found all my tapes '86-'07...still want 'em? Give me the details and I'll mail them "don't open 'til Christmas!"...and a happy new year, too! PS-shoot me a disc or two when you can:D
