I still haven't quite wrapped my brain around how Team Lotus, which doesn't build Lotuses, now owns Caterham Cars which competes with Proton built Lotus cars:confused: Of course Caterham did buy the rights to manufacture the Lotus Seven back in 1973. It is now the Caterham Seven Superlight R500. So now Team Lotus will be building and selling an original Lotus called a Caterham or something like that.
The idea is to use F1 tech on Caterhams with new models promised for the future. The idea is that they will be affordable sports cars within reach of folks with normal paychecks.
Here's an interesting line, Caterham promises to stick to Colin Chapman's legacy and founding principles. That could yield an interesting tag line, Caterham, the real Lotus.
Of course if any of us Yankees want to buy one we have to wrench the silly thing ourselves:shakehead
