Awesome! Fires, explosions and drunkerdness should not be a problem then. And have extra beers for the curious like Spicoli said.
Spakin of racin' and motorhomes and fireworks and drunkerdness...the recent passing of Cam reminded me of a great night of the abovmentioned. Twas a night at Mid-O about 03 or sumpin....After 18 hours of drunked golf crat racin and carryin on, aboot 3 am Cam was lit up on his MGDs and me on whatever jet fuel I could find, and Natty on, well, Natty fuel...we were sittin around the campfire and Cam finally got up and just endo'd into the fire and dumped his beer all over me and Natty. :D sparks a flyin, logs a tumblin, everyone laughin their arses off.
Good times.

Meh - baseball with a box of danica bobble heads was better.
Sheesh, sounds like RA in '63 (c'mon, that was only 40 yrs. Earlier!) Full on downtown riots. Glad the cops only had clubs, no tasers or gas! Full beer cans had no effect on the bank windows. Bunch of idiots hauled off to the lock-up, the tiny post office next to the tracks as I recall. Speaking of fire stories, my brother tackled a guy who actually lit himself up limboing (?) through a campfire! With slobbering thanks he reached into his still smoldering pants, grabbed a wad of bills and told us to go replace the beer that had been wasted putting out his pants and shoes! The only other things I can remember are the guy drove an MG-A and one of the bills was a 20! We ate well the next day! Also sounds like race fan behavior hadn't evolved much in 4 decades!:)Siebkens really got torn up that night! THAT was a little sad. That and the fact that there were TONS more police on the streets the NEXT year!

Fresh doubts emerge over 2013 New Jersey Grand Prix (http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/102851)
Ecclestone was quoted by the Guardian as saying New Jersey organisers "have not complied with the terms and conditions of the contract which is now gone anyway. They don't have a contract."

Ordinarily I would not have much hope, but in this case I am fairly confident that the powers that be in Bergen county already got paid and/or behind this long ago or it would not have come this far. These are the same people who never take no for an answer and will find Bernie at any corner of the planet to explain that to him. Same goes for anyone more local who might get in the way.
Back in June Vettel did a lap of the NJGP track in an Infiniti.
It looks like they blocked the road, but did not clear the streets.

Maybe they will move it to Brooklyn :):gomer:
We have an FTG smilie. We need one for FBE!

Don't forget sitting on a pile of gold.
Yes, that also but don't make it look like a pile of...oh, I guess that would be Ok, too.;)
We're now in the post-Sandy world. Will this make the 2013 NJGP more or less likely?

It already was dead for 2013 primarily due to funding.
I'll be surprised if it is held in 2014
Bernie still trying ....
Bernie Ecclestone has held fresh talks about resurrecting the New Jersey Formula 1 race, Motorsport.com can reveal, despite the event appearing to be dead in the water.
However cable TV mogul Hindery met with Ecclestone over the Canadian Grand Prix weekend to discuss a possible way forward.

I'm guess that way forward would be a substantial down payment for a race that will never happen? Sign me up. :tony:

At one stage Ecclestone organised a loan that provided some funding to get the project moving – a clear indication of just how keen he was to make the race happen
Scenario #1: Hinderly was asking the wrong guy for the loan. There a few guys in Hudson County who pretty much want a hand in any big financing business.
Scenario #2 (more likely): Bernie's loan wasn't enough because there are a few guys in Hudson County who keep finding new "friends" who are "essential" to making such a big event as this come off. You know, "We'd hate to see this 'ting not come off after you's put so much investment in already. Dare's dis' guy who absolutely can make sure evryting comes off a smooth as my mom's canoli cream. YounowatImean?"
I'm sure the line of people stretches all the way to Trenton and Drumthwacket (I kid you not, that's the name of the governor's mansion) and include NY/NJ Port Authority no-show political appointees, mayors, town councils, legislators, union heads, mobsters and more than a few moms who don't want to complain about the noise the cars will make. There will likely even be a school board member or two who somehow want something for their districts.
From what I understand though the people and shopkeepers of Monaco also hold F1 hostage for their little race. So this is not new, just different from backwater counties awash with petro dollars outbidding each other to get a race so they can feel they belong at the big table of nations.
I actually think this might actually come off simply because it would be such a marquee event in about the most ideal location available (in a practical sense), with a perfect backdrop for TV, in the world's media capital. It is just going to take time to get all the right cash in all the right pockets.
