I don't know - that guy looks pretty rejected. Plus, it was a half-full non-coference basketball game. Not like it was the NCAA finals or something. These days of course, anything could be fake.

I once saw something similar at a Minor League baseball game.

The couple was on the field for a contest. She's blindfolded, he shouts instructions to guide her to where he is on the field to win a pair of airline tickets.

When she got to him and took off the blindfold, he got down on one knee and the game host held the microphone as he asked her to marry him.

She answered, "OHMYGOD... NO!!!" and ran off the field, leaving the dude and the host standing there speechless. The host put his arm around the guy's shoulder and walked him off the field.

Real or not, it would have been YouTube gold, had YouTube been invented at the time.
