Oh boy. Cundiff is the new Norwood.
A tale of two kickers....one going to the Super Bowl, the other polishing up his resume. Rematch time, baby.

Oh boy. Cundiff is the new Norwood.Be kind to Norwood. That was a long 47 yard kick and he didn't miss it by that much. No gimmie there.
Cundiff would have missed that if it was an extra point.
Congrats to the NY Giants!
the second best team in the NFC ;)
It has been a pleasure watching the 49ers defense this year.
I hope they come back with an offense next year.
Go Niners!
I survived the 'stick unperforated.
"WHO'S GOT IT BETTER THAN US?"

That's Weatherford. I don't get your joke, but I'm also dumb.
Very enjoyable games
both losing teams have nothing to hang their heads about, other than the fact they won't be playing in the Super Bowl.
oh, and the kicker.... how about the guy who dropped the pass right before that?

Yeah, that's the thing- it's fun to pile on Cundiff, but had his teammate actually done his own job properly, it would have been a non-issue. Ah well. I assumed it'd be a walk in the pahk for the Pats, so a close game was a pleasant surprise.
And I can't say I dislike that Ray Lewis didn't get another stab at the ring.

Word.
Buckner didn't load the bases and throw a wild pitch, either.

That was a good defensive play The DB hammered out the ball with perfect timing just as perfect as the pass was thrown. If anything, I'd place some blame on the holder for not quite getting the squared up properly for the kicker, but IMO, the kick should have been made regardless. There's a reason Cundiff has been released by three teams and spent two seasons out of the NFL.

It was nerve racking. So many things went the Pats' way at the end of that game.
They get an INT and Brady immediately throws one to give it back.
They stuff Rice for a loss forcing a long FG/punt/go for it situation and then stop the 4th down conversion.
Offense can't run out the clock and punt it back.
Give up a long catch and run on the sideline to turn preventing them from getting into FG range into hoping they don't score a TD.
Sterling Moore knocks the ball out of Lee Evans hands (about as close as barely as possible) before he gets his back foot down.
Sterling Moore knocks down another pass.
Cundiff shanks the FG.
And now, the Giants again. I think this game is anyone's, but I'm concerned. Pats pass D is a sieve. Their offense can be slowed. Giants have a good defense and passing game.

Man, harsh.
Actually eight teams total have cut him. That happens when you've been around about 10 years.
And per wiki:
Cundiff was voted to the 2011 Pro Bowl as the AFC placekicker after successfully completing 26 of 29 field goal attempts and a league-high 40 touchbacks.
But I have a soft spot even if that was a really bad kick. There is a reason this Jerry Krameresque placekicking lineman was called by his teammates "shanks". :gomer:

So if I finished in a 7-way tie for 4th, I'm actually the clear winner, right? :gomer:
after we cut him last year.

Manningface logos (http://daveartlocker.blogspot.com/2012/02/manning-face.html).
The DC sports press' clamor for Little Dan to go after Peyton makes this even more appropriate.
