Amen, brutha. Comics have been dead to for over a decade now. Even the ill-fated Opus didn't get me to GAF enough to read on a regular basis. :(

Not sure where Shelton left off and Crumb began, or is it the other way around?
Shelton had (by far) the best sound effects, but Crumb had better naughty bits.

We really shouldn't leave it there. There should be a page off the FAQ that shows all the panels (5 days worth, iirc) of that smock/clay thread...

I always assumed that 'smock smock smock' was the sound the tires made on the 'sleeping policemen' as an off-camber car went sliding around a turn. Oh well, live and learn.

The late Steve Allen, who hosted The Tonight Show in the 1959s, used the phrase "smock smock smock" on occasion.
