The Christian Science Monitor has a good one. It takes a while, 50 questions.

I ended up with a 43/50, it has been 28 years since I took physics:shakehead

It is here (http://www.csmonitor.com/Science/2011/1209/Are-you-scientifically-literate-Take-our-quiz/Composing-about-78-percent-of-the-air-at-sea-level-what-is-the-most-common-gas-in-the-Earth-s-atmosphere)

PHSYICS????????

Oy.

Hey, Pluto isn't technically classed as a planet any more is it?

Have to leave. I hope I can get back to it after dinner.

24/50.

My high school had less than stellar science teachers and I never really had a head for science. I was a history/lit nerd. That said, I think I've learned more about science & engineering from y'all on here than I did in a classroom.

40/50. Stupid chemistry. The Home Ec of the sciences. :gomer:I this woman once, a Princeton PhD Paleontology candidate actually, who hated to cook because she said it reminded her of Chemistry. :D

Well I got all the chemistry right and any other thing that wasn't physics or quantum mechanics. No calculus either. They weren't needed for a French major. :)

Ergo, 35 out of 50. A few lucky guesses and few I realized I should have reconsidered the second I hit the button.

Gnam, it loaded immediately for me. Must have been your connection.

31 out of 50, I suck.

Wait a minute. The speed of a fluid INCREASES when you decrease the pressure? :saywhat:

Think aircraft wings, the faster air moving over the top exerts less pressure therefore you fly.

35/50 = 70%

Shows how poor our high school physics and chemistry syllabi were but I made some silly mistakes. Thankfully (being a flight instructor) i got the Bernoulli question correct!

Just read Bill Bryson's "A Short History of Nearly Everything" which I'm sure helped my score and is a great read. I recommend it. :)
