Seems Lotus (of immense fame and idiocy, see here (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1146106&l=da3676510f&id=135849009792886)) has again protested the Mercedes-AMG-HWA-Acronym DRS thing and again been rejected.
In other news teams are telling Bernie it is his call to race Bahrain. Bernie is telling the FIA it is there whilst also telling the teams they can not go but he will fine them.

Lewis Hamilton's weekend has started off poorly. McLaren has decided that his gearbox was on its way out and have changed it. He will get a five place grid penalty on Sunday morning.
That should even things up a bit. Starting 6th isn't too bad.

It appears they're forecasting rain for the race...

Schumacher fastest by a lot in 2nd practice. Verrrrry interesting!
Anybody have a picture of that all Mercedes front row from the '55 Italian GP? Been awhile, hasn't it?:)
Just finished watching Q2. Wow! If the race is anything like qualifying has been so far it will be a good one. Q3 up next...

It is idiotic that they have unlimited use of the DRS system in practice & qualifying but not during the race. They should have the same location limitation during qualifying as they do during the race. The Mercs are just going to go backwards when they can't use their trick wing after every corner.
Yes. Have to agree. Was wondering though if anyone else had a terrible "feed" with frozen picture/interrupted audio...on a regular basis, throughout the broadcast? It was really annoying!

I had no problems with that.

My attitude is if they're allowed to have it on the car, they should be allowed to use it anywhere on the circuit at the driver's discretion.
I maintain that was possibly the greatest Formula 1 race in about 40 years. The circuit is awful but the gimmicks made absolutely no difference and thus the race was about as pure as you can get in an era of mandated spec parts.

The seven car group that was dicing for 2nd through 8th was fun to watch. The camera work was awful though. Kept changing to watch some crippled car in the pits...

Or cutting away from Button's rear tire issues to watch a battle for 17th:shakehead

Or not.

Yeah, it is amazing that a tire eating car can become so kind to its tires in 21 days. Was it changes to the car or cooler track temps? Bahrain should answer the track temp question.

If we are taking away bad pit stops, Jense is still second. Maybe even on the top step. Herr Buttmachaer - third at best, probably owned by Louise anyhow. WTF happened to Kimi

Looked to me that he got pushed out onto the clag, then lost grip, which resulted in again being pushed out onto the clag, which resulted in continuing to lose grip, etc. Or maybe those tires go off wicked fast and that was his moment.
Regardless, the clag is a problem. They managed to have a great race anyway, but that will not always be the case.

Webber tweeted that he was just trying to save some tire wear on the fronts with that little maneuver. :D

Real late on this. I did, but there were also tornadoes in the area. ;)
