Because the FIA insist on turning the competition into artifice. If somebody brought a 6 lap tyre to a race in open competition because they thought there was strategic gain to be had from it, so be it. To force people to use an inferior product is ridiculous and contrived.:flame:

That's about all they can do with no tire competition.

I'd prefer a tire that was worth the pit stop Delta to put them on the first place that didn't leave marbles all over the track, which I don't think is an unreasonable expectation...

A hard tire that lasted the whole race and made people actually fight for grip and drive would be a nice change.

Because this is the same series that allows a car behind to have special advantage over a car ahead with reduced drag so that there is more passing. The same BS contrived crap is that the tires fall off so that a car on new tires can pass other cars for 6 laps and then other cars on new tires will pass it.

Personally, they might as well add "competition yellows" like Nascar as well.

Did you watch any of the races this year? They are skating all over the place. At the end of last weeks race they were practically drifting through the corners. They have been desperate for grip all season. Tomorrow's race will be won by the driver who manages his tires best using his driving skills.

THanks for the lesson great pontificator. They were fighting for grip on worn out tires after multiple pitstops while avoiding massive rivers of marbles. Big difference between that gimmic and a solid tire that does not disintegrate over race distance if it is taken care of. You really should think before you hit submit.

Note how KImster got beat in the pits. Hard tires that last race distance if taken care of would have resulted in the Seb/Kimi battle continuing for another 20laps. Instead we watched another "gratest pit crew in the world" competition.

Ah well, the PTB are just trying to eke out as many profitable years as they can. It is obvious to everyone that big time auto racing is reaching the end of its limited lifespan. Car culture is on life support.
