Not sure if you're getting this on tv in the states but I'm sure our Canadian friends are; this is the party to end all parties. The people are 20 or more deep along both sides of the 14km Thames route. There's 1000 boats. There's colour, noise, uniforms, bands, bells, military men, pomp, circumstance and chivalry. It's absolutely fantastic.

If it wasn't for your post I would have no idea it was happening. Welcome to the USA.
Couldn't care less. Why haven't they beheaded those worthless ****s?

Probably because of the "wildly popular" bit...

I'd love to see it.
Also, I'm glad it isn't my country.

True. I suppose I've missed it now. :( I love all the pomp and circumstance.

Was quite the spectacle. Both Her Majesty and Prince Phillip appeared to be in great spirits despite the grotty weather...the BBC coverage however was dire....millions of useless cut aways to sodden reporters desperately trying to be entertaining and informative...

I haven't seen or heard any mention of it.

Would have been nice to see a Fairey Swordfish flying. As for the rest of it, meh.

grotty?
Cool, windy and raining.
I'm all about the pomp, but the circumstance stuff can bite me. That will get you into trouble.
(glad those that chose to watch enjoyed it.)

Since the Queen's entertainment was Paul McCartney and Elton John I am wondering if Mac played "Her Majesty"?

The Flyover, no Stringbag, though. :irked:

From the little I saw, her Majesty had a lot to say to one flunkey and she wasn't too happy. ;)

I think the only two flying Stringbags are in Canada.

E II R - what does the R stand for?
E II R - what does the R stand for?
Apparently Regina, or Latin for Queen.
http://www.voy.com/98082/147.html
The E stands for Elisabeth, II - latin: the second and last but not least R stands for Regina whichalso is latin and simply means - Queen .
So the EIIR e.g. in the royal crest means Queen Elisabeth the second.

There's apparently more to come tomorrow. I caught a brief promo bit on the Today Show when I flipped over from Mike & Mike to catch the weather this AM.
-Kevin
On a side note, quite the historic week...first Diamond Jubilee in 115 years and the Transit of Venus tomorrow, which will not happen again for another 117 years.

Weird **** everywhere http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/world_now/2012/06/shanghai-stock-market-tiananmen-square.html I wunder what Nostrodumbass would have to say.
Jolly good show. I like seeing the British be British.
I celebrated the Jubiliee by attending a Good Guys car show and by casting my ballot. ;)
Amazing - our love for all things British: Royalty, bearskin hats, PG Tips, Adele.
While the festivities were underway, I spent Saturday in DC touring a beautifully restored building torched by the British in 1814.
Glad we got over that little spat.

Of course the very best thing about Britain is Cricket....(especially when England is the Number One Test side in the world with a whitewash of India last summer and back-to-back home-and-away victories in The Ashes)....:D
