OC 10th Anniversary approaching?

Looking at my join date, I realized we must be coming up on 10 years of OC. What was the exact start date? Perhaps a "Greatest Hits" retrospective? Hard to believe OC is still here but real OW racing has reached zombie status.

My recollection is that it was December of the prior year that invites started going out to people to join and by Jan word started getting around on its own. My join date was 12-28.

Ah, after typing the above I went to the member list and sorted it by join date. nrc, RG, WB, Pchall, joebob, xpf and "tester" (which must be just as named since it only made 8 post) were the first registrations on 12-20-02. I was 14th to register, with 3 of the registrations ahead of me not actual regular users but administrative registrations.

It opened for business on my birthday, Dec 22 2002. Anyone before that was in on my evil plot. :D

Took me five weeks I see. I do remember resisting because of, shall we say, less than stellar experiences elsewhere. Now I wouldn't GO elsewhere. Love you guys, kissy, kissy. There, :yuck: all over this nice thread. :D

Haha, just read my first post. I stuck my nose into an argument about PT taking out Seb at Denver, and I was totally ignored while the usual suspects battled. Do you remember when we could get so fired up over racing incidents? It's hard to believe now that we were so passionate about something that has become a pile of ****.

I was searching through some old photos from the drive last week - found pics from Philly I emailed to Fourrunner on the proposed track layout. :(

I've gained far more from this little community that I ever expected when I joined on 1/28/03. :thumbup::thumbup:

Yeah, I thought about fourrunner, too. Always sent thoughts his way driving through the Surekill, which didn't happen for obvious reasons this year. :saywhat: :(

Anyway, great community...and I've spent a ton of my life on boards with CS/AOL (keep in mind that CompuServe created forums). Nothing beats this group, IMHO. :)
