View Full Version : Surfers, Aussie V-8s
Interesting race at Surfers shaping up. Marc Lieb (Factory Porsche GT driver) is the fastest of the "Internationals" but that makes him just 15th fastest overall. His teammate however is Michael Caruso who was fastest going into qualifying. Then it is Briscoe, Pagenaud, Sarrazin, Richard Lyons (my personal pick), David Brabham, Mika Salo, Bourdais (1st last year), DiGrassi and Heidfeld rounding out the top 10 for the guests. I like the concept but...How is it determined which International driver is paired with the regular V-8 guy and is this a points race for the overall season championship? Seems the pairing could be a big deal?

in short it's luck and it counts for points...
Cool, then Marco has a chance!?:rofl:
The start went well for most, but not everyone.

They learnt alls they knows about standin' starts in teh IRL :laugh:
Whincup/Bourdais take race 1. I'm OK wit dat!:thumbup:
Will Davison and Mika Salo take the Sunday race. Whincup and Bourdais finish 2nd allowing Bourdais to take the trophy as the top International driver again with his weekend 1-2. Have to say, the standing start problems Saturday involved Ricky Taylor, Tonio Liuzzi and Franck Montagny so I don't think IndyCar had much of an influence there.;
