View Full Version : I need a video
I'm looking for some youtube videos that I can use to deprogram my NASCAR-loving son. :yuck: If you think it's needed, I can get medical supervision and those little eyelid springclips like you see in A Clockwork Orange.
He's only 10, so there's hope. I kinda like the little guy, so it would be cool if he made it to 11. :gomer:
What's your favorite oval races from the more recent CART days?
He's young, so some crashes are a plus.
Thanks!

This last F1 race had my eight year old son jumping up and down.
This one may NOT be suitable even though the guy in it is acting like a 10 year old...

This may not be a good idea...
Trevor went to his first CART race at Nazareth at I think three. While he also watched some NASCAR he was and is hooked on CART.
I suspect though that, helped along by a few hockey strikes, he thinks all things great turn to crap.
Not necessarily a helpful world view.
Or not. ;)
Foyt is winning...if Sato can start throwing expletives and swatting the Dutch into flower beds, the kid could see a worldly view, full circle. :p
Thanks. Looking for OVALS though. He has seen The Pass. He brings it up whenever we play Forza. Like I said, there's hope.
(I'm probably going to have to get NBCSports added to my already-high satellite bill. :shakehead )
I'll get him started on Louden. Damn. Brings it back.

Loudon 1993 sticks in my mind too, great race. The package that year seemed to perfectly suited for short ovals.
Damn...20 years ago :(

Doesn't get any better than this in terms of oval racing for me. Still the best race I ever got to in person.

Well your first problem is that you ask for oval races...
Real racing turns both directions.
I would say your best best may to be show him NASCAR from somona or Watkins Glen so you can show him the two real races on the NASCAR calendar.

:raiseshand: Hate to be that guy, but what's g.'s reaction going to be when, after watching these great vids. (and they are awesome), he's told this series no longer exists? Just give up altogether?

That's what us thinking folks did :p
Pretty much the only good racing left is on two wheels.
