I would be very surprised if VW management let's Porsche and Audi compete head to head in the top class. Has Audi announced plans for a LMP1 to the new regs?

They've announced that both will compete in the WEC including Le Mans. We might see a Bentley like situation where Audi let them win in 2003 but I really hope not. I think both companies are a little too proud to let that happen.

The reason they're both in WEC though is because of the ALMS/GA merger. The Porsche program was supposed to be for full season ALMS while Audi stayed in the WEC. The only head to head they would have would be at Le Mans. Now that LMP1 in America won't exist anymore they have no choice but to race in WEC. Its a damn shame really. Would've loved to see those guys over here.
