I'd like to dedicate this to a friend...one who I knew personally, but not well at all. We talked many times..., his son(s) took swings at me many a times. But, our northeastern treasure Peppi Marchello, lead singer and voice of the band the Good Rats, died last week from a heart attack. If you ever saw a show of theirs you either loved it or Peppi would bang your head into loving it with an aluminum bat.
This guy late in life had a heart valve replacement, heart attack(s), blood clots, stomach cancer...everything. But he still came out, on the road, to my town....where we loved him. If ever there was a man who's heart was sound with love...his was it.
I HOIST a brew for Peppi tonite.....I hope you all have the heart as well, to salute a fallen friend and rock n roll legend...RIP Peppi!
