Football is now returned. :)
Last year, the 49ers stayed healthy and didn't use many backup players, with the notable exception of backup QB Colin Kaepernick. This year, the 49ers' backup QB is Colt McCoy. See you in the Super Bowl. :D
It'll be a sad day in February for you when the Who Deys are hoisting the Lombardi Trophy after their third Super Bowl matchup vs. the 9ers. :p :D

The Bills will either be hilariously bad or surprisingly good; with a strong chance of a heartbreaking loss somewhere along the way.
And remember, if you're going to a game, bag rules have been changed (http://www.nfl.com/qs/allclear/index.jsp) to eliminate everything but clear plastic bags and palm-sized clutches from entering the stadium.
OK, someone please 'splain to me why there is a 'severe lightning storm in the area' (posted on the scoreboard) and the stadium is still full? :saywhat: :shakehead:

Besides, when you're the headline writer for The Columbus Dispatch you've got better things to do than keep track of who's throwing balls for some backwater team in the middle of nowhere. They don't even play the Buckeyes.

I get the feeling that coaches may be telling offensive linemen to stay locked up with the defensive players after the whistle hoping to provoke a reaction that will draw a flag. That was critical in last week's Bengal's game and I've seen it a couple of times this weekend.

As a country, when are we going to join hands across America to get rid of spot-of-the-foul pass interference calls? 41-yards for breaking up a pass play? ridiculous.

Fully agreed. The trouble is that the NFL loves those big pass plays and they don't want to make them any harder by making DBs more apt to take chances. But it's way too much of a judgement call to justify 30 yard plus penalties. In many of those cases the receiver wasn't going to catch the ball anyway.

He did say it, but their actions clearly don't reflect that. It's a lot more than one person offended in this situation. The NFL isn't going to react to one person, or 10, 100, 1000...

They need to back away from their point of emphasis. They need to let the DBs engage the WRs enough to mess with them. If they want to protect players, let the DBs have a chance again. Then call PI when the DB clearly interferes. Also, there should be no PI when the ball is underthrown so bad the DB runs over the WR because they're trying to chase them and they stop suddenly.

T Rich will be a decent back...in the right system and playing on a team with an actual OL. The first two games the Clowns perfected the art of the one man OL. 11 sacks in two games. Rushing average ~3 yards (and a cloud of dust). Long story short, there are VERY few RBs worthy of a top ten pick. I can only think of maybe 4 from the past ten years.
And a final thought...the Clowns have now moved into P2 for the Johnny Football lottery. Mark 1-Dec down on your calendar. That will likely be the 0-16 Bowl.

This was a dumb trade for the Browns.
I agree there are few backs worthy of a mid first round pick. It is a passing league now and any back is only healthy and productive for a few years but Richardson is a very credible back on a team with almost nothing to offer. As far as I know he is a good guy too and not a drain in the locker room. Are they just admitting two weeks into the season that this season is a write off? Who are they going to pick next year with their two first round picks that is going to make a difference to this team?
Meanwhile the Colts continue a tragectory that takes them a long way away from the disaster they were just two years ago.

What slap in the face to Browns fans. Sorry fans, we're writing off this season. Check back in three years when we have our new team in place.
If I were a Browns fan I'd have no faith in this ownership or coaching because they're saying that they can't field a credible team without starting from scratch. Marvin Lewis took the Bengals from the dregs to respectability in just a few seasons starting with a journeyman quarterback signed in free agency. He accomplished that with the notoriously controlling and stingy ownership.

He might win the Heisman and have spectacular athletic agility but his arm is too weak (though accurate) and he is too small to be a pro quarterback. And I think the league is going to see (if they haven't already) that Payton Manning is the winning prototype, not Vick, RGIII, Vince Young, or Cam Newton.
