A 95 year old guy with over 500 old cars, including 50 that were never even titled:

Pity there wasn't more room in the barn. I wonder how much a weather worn '50s pickup with 1.5 miles on the odometer will go for? I'd be interested to see what the most desirable cars there are. I see a '70s Corvette that looks like it still has the plastic cover on the steering wheel.
I wonder how much an investment in some tarps would have paid off.

$140,000 (https://www.proxibid.com/asp/LotDetail.asp?ahid=1530&aid=68561&lid=17400609&title=1958-Chevrolet-Cameo-Pickup)
Here is the NYT recap. They estimate around $3,000,000 raised. (http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/09/30/big-bids-and-bigger-crowds-at-long-awaited-lambrecht-auction/?hpw)
On a side note, I just saw a dude on the Today Show with a '66 Volvo that just reached 3 million miles.

 and
And I thought I did well to get the Bimmer to 150K over 14 years.
The '78 Corvette was an Indy Pace Car edition with 4 miles on it and it went for $80k.
A new 1990 Chevy Lumina Van went for $5900. They probably should have spent $1500 on the 1965 Ford Falcon Club Wagon-Van instead.
Funny that this was such an event that even the dealer trinkets were going like collectables. $150 for plastic folding sunglasses and $160 for a retractable rule.
