View Full Version : Bad Songs & Music
I know this is trite, but having heard Dan Fogelberg's "Same Old Lang Syne" for the first time this season (hope it is the last time), I pondered the significance of truly bad music. Yeah, I know Dave Barry has it well covered and some are obvious. But that "Same Old Lang Syne" is awful. :yuck:
And any "music" by the Grateful Dead.
YMMV.
The Fogelberg song is actually based on a real event

So was the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald ;). It is still a bad bad song. And NOT a Christmas song.

Vindication! After all these years, someone else agrees with me. Yes, it's supposed to be a dirge so I suppose I see why Lightfoot thinks it's his finest work but geeeeeez.
WORST SONG EVER.

Hallelujah, Noel!
Be it Heaven or Hell
The Christmas we get we deserve.

Swayze, "She's Like The Wind", which starts out with one of the worst lyrics of the 80s: "She's like the wind...through my tree."
The rest of the song could be Dante's Inferno and it couldn't recover from that opening line.

I always thought The Christmas Shoes was the most depressing Christmas song.

"Grandma got run over by a Reindeer" has to figure in this somehow...

I still have my one Sweet album. Isn't a brother of one of the guys in AC/DC in Sweet?
One for the kids to sing and for the parents to hate:

And for music in general, add anything by Harry Chapin to the :yuck: list.

Might also add that I highly suggest the whoopee cushion app for the drive down to Orlando. Hours and hours of goodness. :gomer: :D

Calumny. I love that song. They KNOW it's silly but they sing it anyway unlike most of the foregoing songs, where the performers take themselves seriously.

^ This.
And 90% of what the RHCP have written should be taken behind the barn and shot, then burned, then shot again.
