Shows how close to the line even top teams are to being able to keep going. Sad but understandable. Team free to hook on elsewhere.

I'm sure there was practically nothing usable left of the car and who knows what they had in the way of medical coverage/deductibles. All these guys have to be operating on a wing and a prayer.

One of the other things I read was that they would need to build a new car from the ground up and they wanted to switch chassis. If they did that they would miss a couple rounds (including Sebring which is a big miss) both building and getting familiar with the car. Seems like they decided it was just not worth it. Sad but at least they should be back next year.

Sad news...Although I don't really follow GrandAm, I've had a soft spot for this team ever since they gave CdM another chance at racing. Hope they come back stronger than ever next season!
