Give it time. There was always bound to be difficulties the first year or two. When the next round of AOC rules come through, I'd guess IMSA mostly follows suit. And let's not forget, we didn't have full time factory P1 cars this side of the pond the last few years anyway. If the manufacturers want to run P1s in North America, it will happen.

Give it time? How about looking at the current state of AMA "Pro" Road Racing, several years after DMG got control. Paltry schedule of races, NO broadcast or cable TV coverage, very little manufacturer support, dwindling fields and large scale fan apathy (if not outright disdain).

Looking at it now you wouldn't even know that today's AMA has the lineage that once got Ben Spies a World Championship SBK ride.
