This breaks my heart. One of the no nonsense actors. Perhaps the only one of his generation. He called BS when he saw it and dang near got banned by the studios because of it. But he won. He wouldn't put up with their horsehooey. Not to mention he was just a darling to watch for a little girl who loved handsome men with dark hair. RIP Jim.

I was telling my wife just last week that retirement is looking more and more like it will involve a trailer parked somewhere and that as a kid growing up Jim Rockford showed me that was totally cool. :D

We were just joking around but on screen and off James Garner has always someone I thought to take quite a few lessons from. His self reliance and humility were always to be admired.

And his role as Dr. Bob has and will help a great many people learn something about dealing with a horrible disease.

FYI, that trailer was parked on a small section of beach in Malibu. You could do worse. ;)
