View Full Version : basic math question
Same problem, different formats:
7+3=10
' 7
+3
10
What are the formats called?
Trying to find good math apps for the kid, and want them in the "decimal columns" format.
Thanks!

Vertical and horizontal formats. Addends are the number of integers.
So a three addend vertical format sheet would be a lot of:
` 234
+678
This is one of those times when having the {code} {/code} monospaced type command would help.
My son needed(s) the handwriting practice so we didn't use any math apps just used problem sheets that I generated using a word processor.

It's available. :) Either type it, or use the '#' link at the end of the second row.

It didn't work when I tried it the first time.
234 Meh, must have spelled code wrong or something
Vertical and horizontal formats.
Thanks. Hard to believe that the formats are not named after a famous mathematician. Seems to me they need all the love they can get. :gomer:
