Uh, the Colts stink. Period. The OL sucks, Gore is well past his prime, Andre Johnson has never achieved anything close to his so-called potential. Luck? He has a 18.* QBR right now. Fire Pagano, but that's not going to fix the Titanic.
EDIT: so bad they pulled the game from the local Fox feed for the TB/Skins game. Note, that's in the 3rd quarter.

Steelers are pouting over the perfectly legal hit that injured Bell. This from a team with a history of injuring Bengals with illegal, or at least questionable, hits - Palmer, Rivers, Huber, et al. Mitchell even got a penalty for taunting Green with a "you're next" after he put Marvin Jones out temporarily with a big hit.

Speaking of how stupid the NFL is
Can someone explain to me why players must use the same helmet all season (thereby eliminating throwback helmets and one-off designs)? They say it is for safety, although simply mandating the team practices all week in the helmet they will wear on Sunday (like CFB does) seems perfectly fine.
The reason this bothers me isn't about throwback uniforms, though: it's about the fact the league allows Brees, Brady, and Dez (and obviously others I'm missing) to wear 1999-spec Riddell helmets because that's "what they're used to", even though they have been proven clearly and dramatically inferior to the newer models in trauma reduction. So you're telling me that one player wearing two new helmets in a season is somehow WORSE than league superstars wearing horribly outdated safety technology?
It's like F1 telling the drivers "You have to wear a HANS device... except you, Massa - you've been around a while."

That's a response to the Steelers bitching about Bell's injury, and tOSU's run to the championship last season. I just don't think they have any faith in McCarron, who just took his first NFL snaps this pre-season, but (IMHO) looked pretty good.

He didn't play in '14 due to an injury. First snaps were this pre-season. No idea what Marvin/Hue were thinking other than keep the mojo rising. ;) Same question has come up with playing Brady late in blow-out games. :\

Dalton's last real series started at 7:10. I think that's a little early to sit your starter. His last real snap was a hand-off to Hill at 4:19.
I think McCarron is probably capable of handling the ball off 6 times. If not, they should be shopping.
With the Browns stacking the box to stop the run they would likely have been three and out. Then that punt gets blocked with five minutes or more on the clock.

I hate the black unitard look. It looks slightly less horrible with white socks although it seemed odd that some had white and some had black last night.

Jeffery and Bennett - yes. It looks like Jeffery ran the wrong route on the pick six. Wilson can't catch. Mariani doesn't play. Langford seems to be the new hero despite having a drop last week that resulted in a loss vs. the Vikings.
27/40 for 340, 2 TD and 1 INT and setting the all time team record for TD passes ain't bad. Of course, some real fans would rather talk about what face he's making.

The company formed to bring the San Diego Chargers and the Oakland Raiders to a facility it's planning in Carson, California, announced Wednesday that -- if the NFL approves the plan -- Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger would be responsible for hiring its president.
Carson Holdings, a joint venture formed this year by the Chargers and Raiders, named Iger its nonexecutive chairman.
Should the league allow the teams to move, Iger would hire the executive responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functioning of the $1.7 billion stadium that would be built on a 168-acre plot of land located 13 miles south of downtown Los Angeles.

NE and the Falcons? The rules are complex because there's so many conditions, but the ODB one definitely wasn't. That's ruled incomplete all the time. If it gets slapped out right after it's caught they rule it incomplete. The odd thing is they even ruled it a catch to begin with.
Same shizz happened with Eifert against the Ravens. Catch, broke the plane, ball came out when he hit the turf. No TD. :shakehead: :saywhat:
Well that was no fun. At least most people seem to recognize that it was as much the rest of the team's fault as Dalton's. If just half of the drops are caught it's a different ball game.
The problem is they just dropped a "should win" which they haven't been doing all season. Now they have to travel to Arizona and play a really good team after the Texans just laid out a blueprint for beating them. Maybe they can beat that just by fixing their own mistakes but it's not going to be easy.

If a call is right, the time of the game matters not. Apparently Arians was told early on about the Bengals simulating the snap and basically put that in his pocket and pulled it out when he needed it. I don't believe it is a coincidence.
I also think Arians is about the only match for Belichick in the NFL, so maybe I'm "homering" a bit too.
