It was "understood" (no official times) that Dixon and Power both got into the mid 1:43s with both saying lap times will come down further. Dario's 1:39 in 2000 stands as the lap record.

Test day ll will be Sept 28th but closed to the public. Hinch will be making his return to IndyCar, on track, that day and says he expects to be "grinning like an idiot" on the first few runs.:thumbup: Check Newgarden's visor cam laps on the IndyCar site...he turns some very quick laps and it sounded to me like he was FLAT from turn 8, all the way around the Carrousel through The Kink and down to Canada Corner. That's a huge chunk of a lap at RA! "Only" 199 into turn one but faster than CART/Champcar through the turns. (What a spot for Jim Hall's flipper wing...trim it out when needed AND get the downforce!:)) I think it likely the 15 year old lap record there will fall.
