RIP, Mr. Safer

Having come from a psuedo journo background, albeit very amateur, this is a huge loss for a dying breed of real journos. He retired last week, and 60 Minutes basically eulogized this past Sunday. When he didn't appear, I figured something was amiss. They even pulled in Brokaw for segments, as well as Mike Wallace who was his on-air nemesis.

Truly sad day. :( He was a man's man. Journo kinda runs in my family...my great uncle Bernie Karsko was named one of the toughest SOBs in Cbus as City Editor of the Cbus Dispatch by Columbus Monthly. Pales in comparison to Mr. Safer.
