I just wish the wings were limited to single-element. That would solve close follow issues and bring the driver more into the equation.

There must be some people who just love aero. I'd think they would want to simplify the rules and make all the elements smaller/non-existent.

I think the fronts are a bit too wide. I'm glad they didn't go low profile though. Openwheelers on low profile tyres look ridiculous.

IMO... it looks like the 1970s. While the 1970s were cool, it's time to move to 18" wheels and small sidewalls. This would have the added benefit of making everyone start from scratch on suspension work. More relevance to passenger cars + intrigue on race weekend = winner. Sorry, opinionated ow. :)

Is this the intent - that tires/mechanical grip will improve "the show" and mitigate some of the aero limitations on passing?

And when does that cycle end? Develop more twiddly bits making the cars aero sensitive so we increased tires. What's next, ground effect cars?

And seriously - I use this term every day at work: "The law of unintended consequence"... Should be interesting to see how this plays out under race conditions.

I'm not seeing much in the way of aero limitations. I'd guess ground effects would be better than twiddly bits. I'd assume any attempt to improve the show won't. At the end of the day, the equation is power and grip. I've yet to see any reasoned argument that the grip part should not be focused on the mechanical instead of the aero. It's less costly, less complex and would do more to level the playing field than anything else in my opinion. I'm not saying spec chassis, just keep the aero simpler so if you want to spend $100M on wind tunnels and simulations, you get 0.2s a lap vs the team that spent $10M.
