How has our favourite sport come to where it is now when just 20 years ago we had the perfect formula: personalities, talented drivers, fast cars, great sounds, good looking cars, lots of overtaking, cars that raced well on all forms of track, massive audiences, 4 engine manufacturers (honda, toyota, ford-cosworth, mercedes-ilmor), 4 chassis manufacturers (penske, swift, lola, reynard) and 2 tyre manufacturers and equally importantly, stable rules.
