I think the same rules will apply, although I am thinking about getting rid of the Thursday night game, and thus the Thursday deadline. Thoughts?

I'd suggest a custom pick deadline. Set it as late as possible.
http://www.poolhost.com/index.asp?page=rollingdl.asp
Then people can still make picks after Thursday games if they forget. You also can avoid having to enter picks for others (unless you enjoy that).

What he said. ^^
Jessguessin and GManFan are in da houzzzzzz :(:( but dando isn't. I'm sad. Every time I see THE Ohio State football on TV this summer, I've thought of him. Then I'm more sad.
I believe I will have another big Orange.
Maybe we should declare this season the dando Smack Talk Memorial NFL Pool. Or something.
Public service announcement: Be sure to use a unique password on Poolhost. First of all, they don't seem to have an SSL option which is bad enough in a tin foil hat world. But I just discovered that when you use the "forgot password" function on their site they email you your original password. That's mind bogglingly bad on several levels. It means that they're storing every password on their site in plain text (or so trivially encrypted as to be useless), all of which would be exposed if they were hacked.
But not to worry, just use a different password than any of the sites that have access to something besides your pool picks and you should be fine. If you didn't, change it as soon as possible. Also don't put your phone number or address in your profile.
Rules - I agree. If we have the option to have a later deadline and just forfeit the Thursday game if we miss the kickoff deadline I we'll be less likely to have drop outs because they miss Thursday deadlines.

Yeah, Firefox had an aneurysm over the insecure login.
I reset the pool to include only Saturday, Sunday and Monday games.
The downside to this is that it erased nrc's picks so you will have to reenter them. Sorry.
I was going to do this housekeeping over the weekend, but it kind of got away from me.
Anyway, Game on!

I got worried that you wouldn't be able to change the deadline or you'd lose the 5 picks that are entered so I sent 3 PM's (don't ask why. lol) GManFan gave me his picks a week ago. PULEEZE get them entered. If his aren't in, I'm in deep doo-doo.

It just dawned on me today.... oops.
I don't know what happened to my picks last week. I know for a fact I entered them since it is the first step in my Thursday afternoon routine. Picks, then post a reminder.
Oh well, the commish takes a big hit on redemption week.
And hey, REMINDER!!!
And I went 9-6 last week in my other pool. Too depressed to see where that would have placed my in the Dando memorial!!! :flaming:

Some no-fun-to-pick games this week. My favorite matchup this week is "team that's nonsensically benching it's QB" vs "team with QB in concussion protocol who might play and might not"
Ha! My double reverse jinx pick against the Bengals worked in the Bengals favor. First win at Denver in decades.

Oh dear, GmanFan is disappointed. He has only come out on top two weeks though WB won this one on the tie-breaker but they had the same number of games right. Why? Bcause GMF picks both the Chargers and the Giants every week and on two weeks this season they both won. And they are both playing on Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving guys!

Duty calls. That is Tahiti Tourisme called me and asked me to fill in for an agent that cancelled attendance at their Tourism Expo. Note that this meant leaving in less than 48 hours for 10 days. Did say "10 days"? Yes. The tourism mart (30 vendors with 10 minutes each) was one day, subtract 2 travel days and the rest was touring the islands. Poor me. I got home this morning. 25 hotels in 7 days but, you know, I soldiered on through Tahiti, Raiatea, Taha'a, Bora Bora, and Moorea. :D

Ah yes. If I have to suffer through a terrible season for the Bengals at least I can revel in them ruining someone else's season. Trust me, I know how miserable it is to sit in bitter cold weather for three hours and then see your team's season swirl down the toilet in the closing seconds. Those are the most delicious tears of all. :D

I did enjoy that Bengals TD. Harbaugh spent too much time worrying about the change to the game time and less on beating the Bengals. Oops. :D

I hadn't really thought about the Bills drought until I read about it after the fact. I think Bengal fans who think that 0-7 in the playoffs over the last fifteen years is a like being in the seventh ring of hell would do well to consider that they're a couple of bad choices away from a decade plus playoff drought like we saw in the '90s.
Also heard about some delicious extra salt on the Ravens wound. Back when the Bengals laid an egg against the Chargers in the playoffs NFL films featured some clips of Chargers safety Eric Weddle relentlessly mocking Andy Dalton. Weddle now plays for the Ravens and it turns out that Dalton's 4th down touchdown pass cost Weddle a million dollar incentive for making the playoffs.
On a less schadenfreude note, it was great to see these reactions from the Bills and their fans.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INx2xRXY__8
Bills fans have given over $100,000 to Andy Dalton's foundation to help sick children in gratitude for his game winning touchdown pass that put the Bills in the playoffs. Class move by Bills fans.
I vote we do a rematch of the 1988 AFC Championship game next season to celebrate the 30th anniversary of that game.
Of course Bengal fandom has now ceased to exist since the Bengals have renewed Marvin Lewis for two years. Bengals fans like to think they were going to get a Gruden or Cowher when another Dave Shula is more likely.
It's tough to say what is going to change that might get them over the hump but there are suggestions that Lewis may finally get final say in coaching staff. The Bengals have multiple "friends and family" coaching positions that have been untouchable, including the OL coach who has been there 23 years with the title "Assistant Head Coach" added 12 years ago.

Two games with some bad end of game management on the offensive side. One lost, one won. Are the Steelers still looking for the 10 point play in the playbook? The throw to Diggs was really bad, but the Saints coverage was worse. He had little chance of getting out of bounds and it should've been game over and criticism for making that pass.

It's the Steelers. They were expecting the officials to award them 10 points for that last touchdown.
It was bizarre. Receivers were fighting for meaningless yardage rather than step out of bounds. It's like they had already given up on winning but felt like they were proving something with that last touchdown.
Speaking of the Steeler's cozy status with NFL and the officials, Maurkice Pouncey pushed an official and got away with it - much more vigorously than the body bump from Adam that finalized the Bengals' last playoff loss, or the arm nudge that got Vontez Burfict ejected earlier this season.

I saw that and was surprised there was no flag. I was thinking on something like that, the NFL should remove the player even if it's a play or 2 later. It's way better than just letting it go.
Tomlin is just a bad coach. I know for a fact that Belichick would've kicked the FG knowing they need 2 scores and the onsides kick. Tomlin gave them no chance.
