Mozilla Thunderbird question

The hard drive on my computer crashed last week. I now have a new computer but when I'm installing Thunderbird trying to re-establish my existing account it doesn't recognize the password. I'm looking for a password reminder function but unable to locate it. Any ideas?

Thinking about it, Thunderbird only has saved the password for your email account. The password is actually maintained by your email account provider (gmail, hotmail, your ISP...). If you don't remember your password and cannot retrieve it from your old hard drive, you probably need to contact your email provider to retrieve or reset it.
