They have been doing a lot better lately. At Indy, there were three or four practice crashes where the cars got up sideways but didnt go all the way over.

They've got some trick thing on the underwing that deploys to try and stop them blowing over plus the super speedway cars have quite large holes in the floor ahead of the sidepods that they think were the reason the cars never got much over 90? of roll in any of those indy crashes.

Interesting that the Indycar race at RA was much more entertaining than the F1 race at Paul Ricard.

When the highlight of the race is Valteri Bottas sleeping thru the end of a VSC and getting mildly pestered by Charles Leclerc at the end of the race...

All rather reminiscent of 2004.

Why is that interesting?

Kit/spec car series (such as the Dallara only IndyCar and over-regulated NASCAR) are designed to achieve exactly that....an entertaining, semi-"orchestrated" show. :thumbdown:
Not, as in F1, an exhibition of the best (designers, engineers, mechanics, cars, drivers, administrators, etc.) plying their trades for us to enjoy. :thumbup:

Maybe F1 is not for you? It has been (and still is) for me for over 50 years. :)
Sure, there have always been those that dominate (having come up with the best "mousetrap") as anyone that's superior should. And, when there are those really competitive moments (delivered by teams of the above that have to design, construct, develop, improve, and race their own "product") they are to be savoured...NOT...expected. ;)

It was an interesting fortnight. You had the French Grand Prix, one of the dullest most predictable F1 races since Michael Schumacher's prime and the Austrian Grand Prix which was one of the most interesting races in a very long time.

F1 can be boring on weekends where everything functions exactly as designed for a dominant team and they just go thru the paces to win.

F1 can be very interesting when those same things don't go to plan...
