Gosh, Vettel must really be sick with it. :( Great links, SteveH.

Hopefully he's not super sick - just having trouble returning a negative test. But it is concerning for sure.
Looking forward to the race this weekend - great to be back in the saddle!

He's out again this week. But don't forget Vettel has very big reservations about racing in Saudi Arabia (as they all should, probably); there are rumors that played in to Hulk racing again.

Practice 3 currently ongoing. Drivers came to a unamious decision to go on with the race.
Rumor is that the drivers would not have been permitted to leave the Kingdom had they indeed gone through with the boycott.
Of course, everyone is flatly denying those allegations.

The Houiti rebels make an attack and back off. At least that's what's happened *so far* --speaking as someone who flew into the Abu Dhabi airport after they had bombed a building in the airport complex.

As we discussed in chat: End of the race was exciting.
Not quite as good as last week.
Odd that three cars (Riccardo, Alonso, and Bottas) retired on the same lap.
Sad for Perez who lost out on the SC incident.
Separately, in chat we wondered if the Driver's Meetings that took place well into the night on Friday might have gone differently had Vettle been part of them. I do wonder about the future of this race given the incidents of this past weekend. We'll see.
And in the spirit of "We'll see"...it will be interesting to see if Australia actually happens...

Good race, great finish. Respected Otmar’s decision to “let them race”.

Decent race. Looks like the new regulations are working at making the racing better. Now if they replaced the idiotic DRS with something like the Indycar push to pass, we might get even better racing. Because I have to say watching first and second place lock up their tires trying to brake to not be in front at a certain line seems incredibly stupid to me.

Just seems to me that the DRS zones need to be shortened to "solve" it for this year. If they don't, places like Monza and Baku are going to be bananas.
