I hate these featureless tracks
Was able to watch Q this evening. “It was lovely speaking with you” Crushed for Piastri, that was brutal.

Piastri’s revenge.
Good line in the interview about waiting 5 mins on the FIA
Sprint race was great. Plenty of action. Not spoiling it by giving up the winner

fun sprint race. almost like the old days of goodyear firestone where one tyre starts strong and then the other comes on its own.
felt bad for the guys running on soft who were begging to pit for new shoes and basically told, theres no point - do your best.

The whole place seems that way to me. I've flown *through* Doha a few times but, even with a free hotel and sightseeing, didn't see the point of stopping.
Comes across to me as a video game track plus you don't really see many grandstands with fans....the race becomes background noise.
How many fans did Piastri make this weekend?

Remember fondly those old champcar races where they mandated pitstops?
Yeah, me neither.

Yeah, I hate this track, too
The heat became brutal. Logan Sargeant retired due to dehydration. Stroll had vision problems, staggered to an ambulance once he got out of the car. Ocon vomited in his helmet twice during the race. Albon could barely get out of his car.

What are the temps in some of the Indycar races? Isn't 36C (98.6F) fairly common? 40C is 104. Surely our track temperatures equal that. ??
All of that aside, it was a more-than-usually-interesting race. Or maybe because of it............

I always wondered what changed. We know why they bailed but how were they able to go back?
Here's Mario Dominguez' take on it. "These guys need to get more exercise. I imagine what would have happened to them if they had raced in Indycar, without hydraulic direction, in Miami, Monterrey, Houston, at temperatures of more than 40 degrees. For those races we did stationary bike training in greenhouses, and we ran 10 kilometers when it was warmer during the day."
