Fernando Alonso was bundled out of qualifying for the United States Grand Prix in the first segment for the first time, leading him to describe it as a “terrible session”.

True, some tire strategy at play. The HAM/NOR scrap was entertaining. But kind of meh otherwise.

Yeah, I disagree with pundits who say the other teams are getting close. Not even close yet. Unless one team comes up with some major technological advantage (highly unlikely in this cost cap world) I dont see anyone challenging until 2025 at the earliest and maybe 2026.

At the end there I fully believe red bull could have held off Hamilton on mediums until Lewis' tyres were no longer an advantage. That should tell you the distance of the gap still to bridge.

TV ratings for the F1 U.S. Grand Prix dropped for the third consecutive year. This year's race, broadcast Sunday at 3 p.m., ET on ABC TV, pulled a rating of just 0.47 and an average viewership of 882,000, according to television ratings watchdog Sports Media Watch.

I'm surprised since they had Danica all tarted up and with the regular crew. :p

How about these reasons: WDC decided, Constructor's Championship all but decided, little competition generally for the win, NFL and pennant races. Lots of reasons.

Also, no Andretti! :gomer:
