Steiner allegedly believes he has a claim to 50 per cent of the Haas team, having been involved from day one and eventually finding Gene Haas as a backer. The two would have met on such an agreement many years back.

Due to the value of the F1 team having increased dramatically in recent years, the deal would now be worth hundreds of millions of dollars. According to reports, Steiner is said to have considered taking legal action.

His bucket list includes some museum in Tasmania and a handful of other "way out" destinations. We aren't interested in the 3-day affair and would just want to go there on race day.

I feel an affinity for this group (going to back to 2003) and I know that we share many of the same values (FTG, etc. :gomer:) , so I thought this would be a better place to solicit expert advice rather than the global internet. I'd welcome any advice for best seats (assuming you can buy a one-day ticket), where to buy them (official site or resale), places to stay, places to eat and other things to do in Austin. I was last there in the 90s to see punk rock shows on 6th Street. It looks like it's changed A LOT.

I'm probably the queen of out of the way places, having been to Zanzibar last year, and yes, to Tasmania, years ago. For F1 I've only been to Monaco (but I'm looking at Abu Dhabi). Before going I asked around here and two big F1 fans who went with me did their research. They decided, that for ONLY race day tickets we would bite the bullet and buy the tickets from F1 itself. There are so many scammers, we didn't want to get to Monaco and discover we'd wasted our money on some mythical deal. Note that the "fees" are almost half again as much as the cost of the seat but we just paid it. Remember Anaya? She has gotten a few groups of people together to go to Austin over the years. She may be able to give you more info. She's on Facebook if you have access to the ole fogey's format.

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking that buying through the official site my be the safest way to go. I got a screaming deal on some Red Rocks tickets for a show last year and I was happily surprised that they weren't counterfeit. Still though, the weeks of anxiety leading up to the ticket scanner might have cancelled out most of the actual savings. Zanzibar sounds cool and always loved to hear of your travel advice when the forum here was more active. Cheers.

Can't say I saw it coming but it was obvious he was massively unhappy. This seems a good option. If he doesn't do well, they say, ah, he's old but, after all, it's only Ferrari (in its current state). If he does well, he's a savior.

There have been rumours for a while that Red Bull’s primary shareholder Chalerm Yoovidhya, who controls 51 percent of the shares, is considering taking the Red Bull Technology Group Ltd out of Red Bull GmbH empire and setting it up as an independent car company, with Horner in charge and a shareholder in the business.

I have seen reports to the changes at Red Bull over the past week and this may be the reason Horner was targeted. Although it appears he provided plenty of fuel for that fire.

Writer Kate Wagner may have seemed like an odd choice to cover the luxury world of Formula One.

Apparently she exercised her right to appeal the independent barristers dismissal of her grievance earlier this week and that led to her being suspended, with full pay, during the appeal is being processed. Her suspension is apparently related to the findings in the investigation...

And the timing is due to the need to have legal documents were issued, which they were earlier this week leading to the suspension with pay.
